Darren Thompson has been a member of the Crown Commercial Services Senior Team since 2017, leading the Assisted Procurement Teams since January 2020.
Darren’s Teams are responsible for delivering procurements for over 80 customers across Central Government and the Wider Public Sector against over 70 commercial agreements.
The Team has been closely involved in supporting colleagues in the Department for Health through the Covid Pandemic, awarding over 300 contracts in the FM, Technology, Logistics, Contact Centre and Consultancy Categories.
Since March 2020, Darren’s Teams have been working remotely, utilising technology to deliver increased productivity and improving the Teams work-life balance. The Team have increased the value of contracts placed from £875m pre-pandemic to £4.2bn during the current year. Customer satisfaction with the service has also improved through the pandemic.
