About
Before becoming Deputy Director General at Sweden's Ministry of Climate and Enterprise, Jon Simonsson was the full-time Chairman of Committee for Technological Innovation and Ethics (Komet).
Komet's mission was to help the Swedish Government identify policy challenges, contribute to reducing uncertainty surrounding existing regulations, and accelerate policy development linked to the fourth industrial revolution technologies.
Prior to this, Mr Simonsson headed the Department of Innovation, Research and Financing at the Swedish Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation. Before that, he held management and CEO positions in the IT industry and, as an entrepreneur, built a global software company.
He has an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Linkoping University and is an alumnus of the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School.
In 2020 Mr Simonsson was on the Agile 50 list - The World's 50 Most Influential People Revolutionising Governance - selected by the World Economic Forum and the organisation Apolitical.
