About
Sharon Moore MBE is the Director, CTO, for Civilian Government for IBM Technology, with a personal goal to transform public service through the ethical application of technology. In her role, Sharon develops technology strategy, delivers technical thought leadership, designs innovative solutions, and builds passionate communities that make a difference. She has a real passion for making government work for citizens, and for making the world a better one for all. It’s a lofty goal but it drives Sharon to share her skills, her experiences, her time, her network and more.
Sharon gets stuck in to making change happen across the technology industry. She is a Trustee and Chair of Council for BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, and serves on several boards and committees.
Sharon is a catalyst for change in inclusion - particularly regarding gender diversity – leading in BCSWomen and formerly with Scotland Women in Technology. She co-authored a book on the subject in 2021, and was awarded MBE for services to women in tech in June 2018. Recent accolades include being listed in the Computing IT Leaders 100 for 2022, and entering the Computer Weekly Most Influential Women in UK Tech Hall of Fame, having been included in the top 50 since 2018.
